Obituary of Ella May Fairweather
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ella May Fairweather (nee McDade), wife of the late Earl Bliss Fairweather, announce her passing which occurred on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the age of 96, at the Bethany Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta. Born in Saint John NB on March 12, 1921, Ella was the daughter of the late William Noyce and Edith May (Weagle) McDade of Cumberland Bay, Queens County. Ella is survived by her two daughters, Marg Cawley (Bob) of Calgary, Alberta and Lori McIsaac (Bud) of Tumbler Ridge, BC; her two sons, Gordon Fairweather (Rena) of Quispamsis, NB and Carl Fairweather (Karen) of Tumbler Ridge, BC; her sister, Vera McKinnon of Saint John NB as well as several nieces and nephews. Ella’s greatest treasures are her nine grandchildren; Stacey Zed (Peter) of Vancouver, Krista Fairweather (Heidi) of Vancouver, Jeffery Fairweather (Leigh) of New Zealand, Courtney McIsaac of Victoria, Devin and Kegan McIsaac of Calgary, Paige and Joel Cawley of Calgary and Melissa Rice (Byron) of Fort St. John, BC. She also enjoyed eleven great grandchildren; Cody Lawless, Timothy and Chasity Rice, Alexandra and Isaac Zed, Zoe, Kalea, Luke and Rayce Fairweather and Dominic and Violet Cawley. In addition to her parents and husband, Ella was predeceased by two brothers and her nephew George McKinnon. She will be missed by her many friends in New Brunswick, Calgary and Tumbler Ridge. "Never more than a thought away, quietly remembered every day" Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).In keeping with Ella’s wishes there will be no formal funeral service. Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 6PM to 8PM. A private graveside service for family and friends who wish to attend will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Monday, October 16, 2017 1:00 PM. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.
