Obituary of Eugenia Dorothy Agnes Higgins
Higgins, Eugenia "Jean" Dorothy Agnes (Ross)- With heavy hearts, the family of Jean Higgins, wife of the late Everett Edmund Higgins, announce her passing on September 12, 2017 at her residence in the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre. Born May 28, 1924 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Levenia (Hampton) Ross. Jean was a former member of the Hospital Auxiliary, and was very active in her church with the ACW and the St. Luke’s Chancellor Guild. She loved to travel, and cherished time with her family. Jean is survived by her grandchildren, Heather and Derek; great-grandchildren: Kyla Jean, Lucas, Olivia Grace, Ryan, Matthew, and Nathan; and many nieces and nephews, who were so very special to her. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane Jean; sisters: Barbara, Connie, and Marjorie; and her brother, Edward. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre for their care, friendship, and compassion during their grandmother’s time there. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visiting or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Dr. V. A. Snow Centre or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
