Obituary of John H Asselstine
Asselstine, John H – It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Asselstine, husband of the late Eleanor Asselstine, announce his peaceful passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Born in Saint John on January 6, 1935, he was a son of the late John and Edwina (McLeod) Asselstine. John loved the outdoors and spending time working in the woods. He had a great passion for horses and was also known to many as a very good mechanic. John enjoyed his time working for the School Board and was loved by the children who boarded his bus every day. He will be missed by his family and friends. John will be missed by his brother Charlie Asselstine (Kim) of Sussex, NB, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, John was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred and Bob and his sisters, Eleanor and Dawn. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation on Monday, December 4, 2017 from 1-2 PM, followed immediately by the funeral service at 2 PM.
