Obituary of Anita Pearl Murray
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Anita Pearl (Knox) Murray announce her passing on October 06, 2017 at her home in Saint John. Born on February 02, 1936 in Chipman, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Edith Adelia (McCaw) Knox. Anita loved her family, music (especially Elvis), dancing, reading, sewing, knitting and loved to cook. She enjoyed a good party and old movies. Anita would light up with the brightest smile when company came, especially her son Steve. She referred to Steve's family as her own little family. Anita is survived by her son, Steven (Darlene) Elliott; brother, Arthur (Phyllis) Knox of Chipman, sister, Marjorie Fernandez of Ontario; brother-in-law, David Morrison of Saint John; step-children, Ian (Betty) MacDonald of Quispamsis and Cathy (Brian) Howland of BC; grandchildren, Christopher Allen Elliott and Tyler Ross Elliott (Jasmine) and many nieces nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Basil L. Murray; daughter, Kim Edith MacDonald; sisters, Loretta May Jacquart and Marilyn Louise Morrison; as well as brother, Wayne Burpee. We wish to thank the staff of the SJRH-5CS for the special care they gave Anita while she was in their care during her many stays. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenans Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, October 10 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The funeral service will be at Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, October 11 at 10am, followed by the interment at Fernhill Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will be held at Brenan’s. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Canada - Saint John Chapter or the Canadian Cancer Society.
