Obituary of Mary Cheri Allan
The death of Mary "Sisie" Allan of Saint John, beloved wife of the late Robert D. Allan Sr. occurred on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on April 26, 1944 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late John and Helena "Lena" (LeBlanc) Connell. Sisie devoted her life to caring for those she loved and especially enjoyed spending time with her precious grandchildren. She looked forward to all family gatherings, enjoyed playing cards, a good game of bingo and spontaneous long drives. Sisie is survived by her children, Robert Jr., William "Billy" (Galina), Roberta, Walter and Wanda Lyons (Craig) all of Saint John; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, John, Shane, Daniel, Kyle, Cameron, Zachary, Robyn and Amber; daughters-in-law, Donna Arsenault of Saint John and Alana Doyle of Cape Breton; close friend, Cindy Fudge-Thorne of Saint John and Cindy’s grandson, Jaxon; special niece, Rosa Duplessis (Francis) and their son, Brent; as well as several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Donald "Donnie" and sisters, Carol Ann Gilliland, Doris Gallant and Jean Gilliland. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.
