Obituary of Angus B. MacMillan
With grieving hearts, the family of Angus Bentley MacMillan announce his passing, at his residence in Quispamsis, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2017. Born in Upton, PEI on April 7, 1940, he was the son of Hector and Vernie (Creed) MacMillan. Angus leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Ann (Donahue); son, Andrew; grandson, Alexander. He will be greatly missed by brothers, Malcolm (Audrey) of Rothesay and Roy of PEI; sisters Ida Clark (Reg) of PEI and Lena of PEI; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Beryl Lavers and her husband Howard; and sister-in-law, Aletha Creed. Angus moved to NB in 1956 and worked at his uncle Angus MacMillan’s Esso Service Station. In 1974 he became a successful sales rep. for 40 years- first at Battery & Electric, which became Auto Tech, which then became McKerlie Millen, and lastly Carquest. He was an avid sportsman playing on numerous hockey and ball teams. He also coached little league ball. He belonged to the Saint John Art Club, and lately the Fundy Gallery of ART. As an accomplished artist, his works can be found locally, in the US, other parts of Canada, and overseas. Angus also took part in many church activities and canvassing for charitable organizations. Angus had a truly kind and pleasing personality- a friend of all, an enemy of none. He will be greatly missed! Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), where visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay, on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11 am. Private interment to take place at a later date. Donations in Angus’s memory may be made to Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Building Fund, the Heart And Stroke Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
