Obituary of Douglas Leon Belyea
With much sadness, the family of Douglas Leon Belyea wishes to announce his passing on Sunday, November 19, 2017. He was born on November 7, 1929 to Charles Everett Belyea and Anna Lillian Belyea (nee Johnston). He was a devoted family man, married 64 years to the love of his life Dawn Cavell Belyea (nee Gallagher). Doug was a talented and hardworking carpenter by trade and was much respected in the local construction industry for his knowledge and skill. He was a supervisor for many large projects in the Saint John area. He loved the natural world and found much pleasure there amid the forests and waterways. Many happy summers were spent camping with his family at Oak Point, "Wally’s" and PEI. He is survived by his precious wife Dawn; his sister Susan (Gunar); and his loving children: Doug (Alice), Darrell (Becky), Dianne (Jon) and Donna (Todd). He was "Pa" to his eight wonderful grandchildren: Lisa, Kara, Aaron, Adam, Evan, Nick, Morgan and Jenna, and his great grandson Colton. He was predeceased by his parents and his beloved daughter Deborah Lynn. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Doug’s wish that there be no visitation or funeral service will be respected by his family. Donations to charitable organizations of one’s choice may be made in his memory. Rest in peace dear one. Know that you were much loved and that those you loved are forever grateful for the gift of your presence in their lives.
