Obituary of Margaret Mary Alliston
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Alliston of Saint John, cherished wife of Jimmy "Grizzly" Best announces her passing, which occurred on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 1, 1951 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Percy Francis Alliston Sr. and Mary Margaret (Doucette) Alliston. Margaret took great comfort in her Catholic faith and always had a special place in her heart for all animals. She enjoyed singing mostly country music, watching westerns, writing poetry and reading Stephen King novels. In addition to her husband, Jimmy, Margaret will also be lovingly remembered by her sister, Beth Alliston O’Neill; brother, Percy Alliston Jr.; sister-in-law, Ann Alliston; four sons, Jason "Thor" Miller, Chad Stevens, Lee Teare and Graham Teare; grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her aunts, Kathleen Harrison, Shirley Lowe, Rose Masten and Lena Sheehan and uncles, Eddy, Billy and Beverley Doucette. Resting at Brenan’s funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John with visiting on Monday, October 9, 2017 and Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
