Obituary of Mary Yvonne McQuade
It is with heavy hearts the family of Mary "Yvonne" McQuade, loving wife of Bernard "Bernie" McQuade, announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Born in Saint John on August 6, 1938 she was a daughter of the late Everett and Marie (Walton) Benson. Yvonne spent over 20 years fulfilling her passion of cooking with the child/adult program at the Centenary Queens Square Church. In the years following, Yvonne has generously given back to her community by doing homecare and cooking for seniors in the Saint John area and volunteering with Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of St. Augustine’s and St. Matthews Church, the Legion of Mary and the CWL. In addition to her husband, Yvonne is survived by her six children: Marilyn (James) McCollum, Dianne (Stephen) Reid, Lorrie Smith, Pam (Danny) Reid, Tim McQuade and Derrick (Erin) McQuade; 14 grandchildren: Tamara (Cory), Marley (Aaron), Jason, Kelsey, Mandy, Mindy (Malcolm), Ryan, Jessica, Tyler, Justin (Shelby), Brandon, Brett, Ali and Lea; 11 great grandchildren: William, Meredith, Quade, Nolan, Briana, Myla, Cadence, Layla, Dani, Max and Caleb; and special friend Maureen McQuade. Yvonne’s family would like to extend special thanks of appreciation for the doctors, nurses and volunteers of SJRH Palliative Care Unit. Your care and compassion for Yvonne will never be forgotten. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Augustine’s Church, 279 Nerepis Rd., Grand Bay-Westfield, NB., on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM. For those who wish, remembrances in memory of Yvonne may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or a charity of the donor’s choice.
