Obituary of Janet Marion Logan
The death of Mrs. Janet M. (Cowan) Logan, wife of the late Mr. Hartley M. (Bud) Logan of Saint John, NB occurred on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at her residence, Rocmaura Nursing Home (formerly of 53 Somerset St.). Born October 20, 1906 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Ziller and Georgina Harriett (O'Donnell) Cowan. Mrs. Logan was a life long resident of Saint John, NB and was a member of the Church of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement and the St. Monica Guild. She was an avid knitter and a Maritime speed skating champion in the 1920's during the Charles Gorman years. She is survived by four sons; Douglas (Vida), Pennsylvania, Lorne (Ila), Saint John, NB, Graham (Elizabeth), Westfield, NB, and David (Lois), Florida, sister; Louise Anderson of New Jersey, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Logan was predeceased by one sister, Evelyn Gorten and one brother, Robert, both of New Jersey. At Mrs. Logan's request there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at 2:15 p.m. from the chapel at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Mrs. Logan's church or to a charity of the donors' choice.
