Obituary of Ruth Constance Kristoffersen
Surrounded by her loving family, Ruth Kristoffersen, wife of the late Kaare Daniel Normann Kristoffersen, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, November 24, 2017. Born December 29, 1914 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret (Stackhouse) Journeay. Ruth was a longstanding member of Trinity Anglican Church, and a member of the Eastern Star. She was kind, strong, and generous, and was considered the matriarch of the extended family. A great hostess, she always had an extra place set at her table and opened her doors to anyone. Summers were spent at the cottage in PEI, and until recently, she enjoyed her yearly visits to Barbados, as well as trips to Europe and other destinations. Ruth will be missed by her children: Kari Bourque (Romeo), Arthur Kristoffersen (Thomas Waterman), Lynn Kristoffersen, Erik Kristoffersen, and Susan Taylor (Mark); grandchildren: Anna (Rod), Samuel, and Petter (Leanne) Kristoffersen; great-grandchildren: Karin, Andrew, and Maggie Taylor; niece, Louise Stevenson; nephews: Charles Peatman and William Journeay; and several cousins. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters: Annetta Taylor and Edith Peatman; and brother, William Journeay.
