Obituary of Robert Clive Curran
With heavy hearts, the family of Bob Curran, husband of Evelyn (Oldfield) Curran, announce his passing on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born July 8, 1927, he was a son of the late Wilfred and May (Springer) Curran. Bob worked at Canada Post, and retired as a Letter Carrier Supervisor. He was very active in Douglas Avenue Christian Church, now called The Harbour, as part of the choir and several groups, and as an Elder. He was a member of The Beaus And Belles, and enjoyed golfing and bowling in his younger years. In addition to his loving wife, Evelyn, Bob will be missed by his son, Bob (Kathy); grandchildren: Jennifer DeSilva (Matthew) and Christopher Curran; great-grandson, Braeden DeSilva; sister-in-law, Lorna Wilson (Bruce); and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Carl and Ronald. The family would like take this opportunity to thank the staff and volunteers of the Church of St. John And St. Stephen Home, Inc. and the staff of 3D South at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their exceptional care of Bob. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held in Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2 pm. A private family interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens the Spring. For those who wish, remembrances to The Harbour, Church of St. John And St. Stephen Home, Inc., or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
