Obituary of Lester Wilmot Mott
It is with great sadness that the family of Lester "Les" Wilmot Mott, loving husband to Roberta (Baxter) Mott, announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Waterborough, New Brunswick on April 13, 1929, he was a son of the late Ottie and Carrie (Dykeman) Mott. Les was, for many of his working years, the Executive Vice President of Baxter Foods. He was very active in the community, being a member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club, Thistle -Saint Andrew’s Curling Club, Probus Club of Saint John, Masonic Lodge, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69, and the United Commercial Travellers. One of Les’s favourite pastimes was enjoying harness racing, owning several horses with friends. Above all, Les loved his family and spending time with them at family gatherings. He will be missed by all who knew him. Les will be lovingly remembered by his wife Roberta of 64 years; son, Gary Mott (Lana) of Saint John; brother, Clifford Mott (Jean) of Ontario; sister, Bernice Wilson (Beacher) of BC; grandchildren, Andrew Mott and Angela Mott; sister-in–law, Olga Mott Allaby as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Les was predeceased by his brother, Orland; brother-in-law, Malcolm Baxter and sister-in-law, Kathryn Baxter. The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to the doctors and nurses of 4C North for their care and compassion. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
