Obituary
Obituary of Douglas Paul Catton
It is with great sadness that the family of Doug Catton, loving partner to Susan Beckwith, announces his passing which occurred on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 17, 1960 in Halifax, NS, he was a son to the late Lloyd and Barbara (Graham) Catton. Doug was employed with SJ Hyundai in sales for many years and recently became a Tour Guide at the Reversing Fall, which he enjoyed very much. He loved to cook and was meticulous with his recipes. He enjoyed playing cards with his family, walks at Saints Rest beach and had a love of animals, especially his cat KitTeN. Doug was a very witty man, with a wicked sense of humour. He was smart, particular and had a strong attention to detail. Doug was warm and kind and will be missed by all who knew him. Doug leaves to grieve his partner for the last 8 years, Susan Beckwith, his son Justin Catton, step-children: Kevin (Amie) Beckwith, Cohen Whittaker and Jennifer Beckwith, his grandchildren: Chloe and Carter Beckwith, Jaidyn and Jakota Ayres, his brothers: Vincent Catton, Michael Catton, Ronald (Beverly) Catton along with many nieces, nephews and members of his extended family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, February 1 from 2-4 and 6-8. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 2 at 10 am in Brenan’s Chapel. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to SPCA-Animal Rescue.
