Obituary of Jesse William Edward Clack
CLACK, Jesse (John) William Edward, husband of Lillian (McLean) Clack died peacefully December 3, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in London, England on March 9, 1921, he was the son of the late Albert and Annie (Bates) Clack. John was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Royal Air Force from 1941-46. While stationed in New Brunswick, he met Lillian and they were married on November 20, 1943, recently celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Following his military service overseas, he immigrated to Canada in 1946 and had resided in Saint John since that time. He was employed by Brookville Manufacturing Lime Company for 42 years, retiring in 1988. John was a member of Glen View United Church and, over the years, had served on various committees and as church treasurer. In addition to his loving wife, John is survived by three sons, Ronald (Helen), Grand Prairie, AB; James (Edith) and John (Lorraine), both of Rothesay; two daughters Susan, Saint John; and Barbara (Charles) Jolie, of Prince of Wales; daughter-in-law Donna Clack, Calgary, AB; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his only brother, Ronald. At John's request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Glen View United Church, 8 Upland Road, at 11:00 am, Friday, December 5, followed by a reception in the church hall. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424).
