My sincere condolences to Ricky's family and friends. Growing up together in the North End, going to Lorne School and hanging out being the kids we were. Always remember Ricky being a solid guy and being there for his friends and certainly no one to mess around with, him or his brother Wade. There was a lot of good times with both of them in our younger years. So sorry to hear this news today in speaking with a friend that knew Ricky as well. RIP my friend....

Sending my deepest condolences to Ricky's family. I think Ricky loved my dog as much as I do, anytime my dog seen him he would hop in his car and Ricky would take him out for a car ride, sometimes gone for hours lol. Even when I was out west and came home for a visit Ricky would drive me anywhere never taking money from me so I would hop out and throw money on the seat and slam the door. Rest easy free from of all your pain.

Dear David, Debbie, Lorrie and family, please accept our sincere condolences on the loss of Ricky. He dearly loved his family, and would give us a big bear hug when we would meet up. Ricky was a hard worker with Whipper at the the bottle exchange, and always shared a few stories and laughs. He was a kind and gentle soul. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you at the difficult time.

We were so sorry to read of Ricky's passing. We first met Ricky when we purchased our home over thirty years ago. He and Lorrie were our next door neighbours. Ricky quickly became a good friend to our family, always willing to lend a helping hand. His love for his parents, family and friends was so very evident to all who knew him. Ricky was a gentle giant, but had an absolute heart of gold and never failed to offer a helping hand, whether it was joining in when we would be shoveling our way out of a winter dump of snow or if we needed help with anything, we could always count on Ricky to step up to the plate. A hard worker, Ricky never backed down from a challenge as was clearly evident this past year as he battled with his ongoing health issues. Even after he had his stroke a few years back, Ricky never slowed down. Always present and always willing to offer a drive to a friend or a few kind words, his heart always overflowed with kindness.
Those who knew Ricky, knew of his love of Kentucky Fried Chicken and potato chips. Over the years we would regularly joke with him and tell him if he didn't give up that stuff, he would sprout feathers!
Unfortunately, we lost touch with Ricky when he moved to the Carleton Kirk Apartments, but every now and then he would drive by and stop for a chat and to catch up with the goings on in the neighbourhood.
Our family are honoured to call Ricky our friend. Rest easy Ricky, your battle here is done. We will miss you but know that you are now at peace.

To Rick's Family: I only got to know since 2005 when I was crossing the Crosswalk in front of Castles on Lancaster Ave. Than later on when I was heading to the Our Lady of the Assumption and he was living on Charlotte St. West we always had a moment to talk and he would always ask me how James was doing.. Than when he moved into the Carlton Kirk building and he always took the time to say hello.. Ricky was like James other brother from a different mother .. they always shared the same interest the Old North End and if course one another parents.. You put up great fight and fought a great race, but now you can take rest knowing your going to be meeting your loved ones with open arms. Rest Easy until we meet again.. Janet Jarvis

To the family; I am so sorry for your loss, I knew Rick through his father and mother who I knew well and when i was an active funeral director at Castle I looked after the funeral for Wade.
