Obituary of Suzanne Irving
Suzanne Heather Cameron Irving (nee Farrer) died on October 6th, 2025 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Suzanne was born in Saint John and was the daughter of Dr. Isaac Keillor Farrer and Mrs. Marjorie Cameron Farrer (Matheson), sister of Frederick Keillor, wife of John Ernest (Jack) Irving, and mother of Colin Dargarvel, who have predeceased her.
Suzanne graduated from Saint John High School, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Education Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was a Registered Radiology Technician.
Suzanne was a recipient of an Honorary Doctor of Letters, awarded by the University of New Brunswick. She served three terms on the Board of Governors, University of New Brunswick Fredericton. She served on the Board of the New Brunswick Museum, as well as President of the Ladies Section of the Union Club. She was a longstanding member of the Trinity Anglican Church Vestry. Suzanne was a recipient of the Rotary Club’s Paul Harris Fellow Award. She received an Honorary LifeTime Membership from the Union Club of which she was a member for 73 years. She was an active member of her communities and had many interests, the New Brunswick Symphony, Imperial Theatre, Trinity Anglican Church, University of New Brunswick, New Brunswick Medical Education Trust, Union Club and Saint John High School.
Suzanne spent a lifetime of joyous summers in Westfield on the St. John River. She had an enduring passion for salmon fishing on the Restigouche and Upsalquitch Rivers standing in canoes, wearing boots, casting her long line all the way out.
Suzanne is survived by her son John Keillor Farrer Irving, his wife Elizabeth, her daughter Anne Cameron Irving Oxley, her husband John and six grandchildren.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation will take place at Trinity Anglican Church on October 9th, from 2pm to 6pm and the Funeral Liturgy will take place at Trinity Anglican Church on October 10th, at 11am.
