Obituary of John Charles Mason
Mason, John Charles – Heather and Janice are saddened to announce the sudden passing of John C. Mason, on March 25, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Arvida, Quebec, he was the son of the late Charles and Phyllis (McNutt) Mason. John was a broker for Angus-Miller Insurance Inc. for 28 years and he was also past president of the Insurance Institute of N.B., the Thistle St. Andrew’s Curling Club, past chairman of the Governers of Rothesay Netherwood School, and president of Festival by the Sea.
John will be deeply missed by the love of his life Heather Mason; his daughter Janice (Kenneth) Deveau of Baxter’s Corner, NB; brother in law Kenneth (Pam) Haley; uncle Robert (Vera) Mason; and special grandchild Haley Deveau, whom he lovingly referred to as "his little friend", as well as niece, nephews and cousins.
John was predeceased by his parents.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Joshua Group, Palliative Care at the Saint John Regional Hospital, the Diabetes Association of Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
