Obituary of Florence Doreen Lavine
With heavy hearts, the family of Flo Lavine, wife of 56 years to Harry "Frank" Lavine, announce her passing on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born April 6, 1939, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary Elizabeth (Barry) Harley.
Flo worked for 50 years at the Union Club, retiring 13 years ago. She had a big heart, and will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
In addition to her loving husband, Harry, Flo is survived by her children, Joanne Peters (Donald) of Iqaluit, NU and Barry Lavine (Beverly Pitawanakwat) of Victoria, BC; grandchildren, Tyler Lavine and Bailee Lavine (Jason Severny); great-grandson, Madden Lavine; sisters, Helen Slattery and Carol Frank; brother, David Harley; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James "Sonny" Harley; and several aunts and uncles.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visiting will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 10 am until 12 noon, at which time a funeral service will begin in Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
