Obituary of Ambrose Eugene Pickard
The death of Mr. Ambrose Eugene Pickard, formerly of Creighton Avenue, Saint John, husband of the late Patricia R. (Bain) Pickard, occurred on Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at Royal Court in Riverview, NB. Born in Johnville, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (McGrath) Pickard. Mr. Pickard was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the Canadian Army, and was a member of TBS #1 Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6595 and was awarded the Dollard Medal in 1993, in recognition of commitment to his church and community. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Jana) of Saskatoon and Kevin (Casandra) of Riverview, one daughter, Katherine Churchill (Tony) of White Rock, BC, two brothers, Peter Pickard and Walter Pickard, both of Johnville, NB, one sister, Christine Lavoie of Fredericton, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Frederick and sisters, Eileen, Dorita, Theresa and Kathleen. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joachim's Church, Saint John, on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).
