Obituary of Brian C. Moore
The death of Mr. Brian C. Moore, of Saint John East, occurred unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 27, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, he was the son of Anne (McKinney) Moore of the St. John & St. Stephen Church Home, and the late Claude Moore. Brian was very active in his youth with many sports and was heavily involved for the past 40 years in Harness Racing, as owner, driver and trainer. His greatest achievement being that he led the Maritimes in wins in 1991, as well as has had 1532 wins in his career. He was a longtime member of the Saint John Fire Department, the Saint John Fire Fighters, Local #771, IAFF, the Saint John Harness Horseman's Association, and a board member of the Saint John Exhibition Association. Besides his mother, he is survived by one sister, Linda Moore-Boyle of Rothesay, special nephews, Carter and Turner Boyle, special friend Debbie Barrett, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church on Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 10:00 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Saint John Fire Department Burn Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital. www.brenansfh.com
