Obituary of Charles Alexander LeGoff
The death of Mr. Charles Alexander "Alex" LeGoff of Saint John, NB, occurred on Thursday, October 24, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born, October 27, 1914, in Richibucto, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Amelia (Comeau) LeGoff. Alex was in his 88th year, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Alex had served in the Second World War with the Merchant Marine, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 64. He served with the Corps of Commissioners at St. Joseph's Hospital for 15 years. For many years, Alex had been employed with the Canadian Pacific Railway. He is survived by one niece, five nephews, and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Freddie and John LeGoff. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Saturday from 9:00 -9:45 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 10:00 AM from Holy Trinity Church. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Field of Honour. Remembrances to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. A Royal Canadian Legion tribute to a Veteran will be held on Friday at 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
