Obituary of Elizabeth Sarah Cormier
The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Sarah (Sherwood) (nee Curran) Cormier, of Saint John, wife of the late Joseph Cormier, occurred on Monday, November 25, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Harmon and Elizabeth M. (Henderson) Curran. For many years, Elizabeth had been employed with the Department of Veteran's Affairs, as a supervisor in the laundry department, from where she had retired. Elizabeth loved knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. She had a great love for dolls and knick-knacks, and will be remembered for having a "green-thumb". She is survived by one son, John Sherwood (Ida) of Grand Bay- Westfield, NB, four daughters, Shirley Wallace (George), Jean Smith (Bobby), Joan Thompson (Harry), and Eileen Winchester, all of Saint John, a daughter-in-law, Joan Sherwood of Saint John, two brothers, George Curren (Hilda), and Stanley Curran, both of Saint John, sisters-in-law, Doris Curran of Jones Creek, NB, and Adrianne Curran of St. Louis-de-Kent, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and a special feline friend, Baby. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alder Sherwood, her second husband, Joseph Cormier, a son, Wayne Sherwood, and brothers, Edward, Donnie, Charlie, Manford, Jimmy, and Walter Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 28, 2002 at 2:00 PM from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
