Obituary of Mary Agnes Scott
The death of Mary Agnes Scott, wife of the late Harry Burton Scott, occurred on November 26, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in England she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Elizabeth (Chambers) Ward. Mary had a varied range of interests and hobbies. She enjoyed her animals, horses and dogs. She was an avid reader, collector, enjoyed flea markets, all types of dancing and classical music. She was a member of Silver Falls United Church Choir and also participated as a volunteer in many organizations. She was a long time employee with J. D. Irving and upon her retirement she kept very active. She is survived by her son William H. (Patricia) of Dartmouth, NS, her daughters Betty Humphrey (Dan) of Rothesay, Nancy Ratcliffe (Barry Hamilton) of Rothesay, her grandchildren Jennifer (Stewart) and Jeffrey (Lisa) Humphrey, Rachelle Ratcliffe, Kimberly (Deno Jr.) Pappas, Tony Scott, Michael Scott and Kate Scott, her great-grandchildren Jasmine and Jessica Ratcliffe, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert E. and Harry C. Ward and her sister Cecilia Ward. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2002, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan's Chapel. There will be a family interment service at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances made to the Alzheimer's Society of Saint John, Diabetes Research Association or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
