Obituary of Shirley L. Gavin
The death of Shirley L. Gavin, wife of the late Ernest Gavin, occurred on December 17, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Matilda Wilkins. She was employed with Red Rose Tea. She was very active with Edith Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons Steven and his wife Marilyn, Thomas and his wife Maureen, Philip and his wife Christine, her daughters Marilyn Gavin and her husband Georges, Marie Mott-Gavin and her partner Mitch Doherty, all of Saint John, her brothers Chester, Reginald, Ronald, Donnie, Douglas, and Harold, all of Saint John, her sisters Geraldine of St. Catherine's, ON, Pat and Doreen, both of Saint John, her eleven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was an extraordinary person who will be greatly missed. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2002, at 11:00 AM, from Edith Avenue Baptist Church. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com
