Obituary of George Austin Bannister

The death of George Austin Bannister, formerly of King Square South, husband of the late Aniela (Aksamit) Bannister occurred on Friday, October 4, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late George W. and Margaret (Scott) Bannister. George was employed as a Chef for the Royal Victoria Hotel in Montreal were he lived for 45 years before moving to Saint John. He is survived by three sisters Florence Shannon of Newcastle, NB, Audrey McInnis and Margaret Halvorsen both of Saint John, three grandchildren Christopher, Wendy and Melody all of Montreal, several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by one brother James L. Bannister and one sister Bernice Bannister. By request there will be no visiting or funeral service. Following cremation interment in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
