Obituary of John Edwin Walton

The death of John Edwin (Buddy) Walton of Prince Edward Square and formerly of Spar Cove Road, Saint John, NB, husband of the late Shirley (Elliott) Walton, occurred on Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late William and Mary Ann (McCauslin) Walton. John was employed with the Port of Saint John as a stevedore. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and the Seniors' Drop-In Centre, Saint John City Market. John was survived by one son, Mark Thomas Walton; two brothers, Alphonse Walton (Diane) and Jack Walton of Saint John; one sister, Connie (Robert) Creamer; of Saint John; one grandson, Matthew Brendan Walton and his mother, Wanda Joyce White, both of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Billy and Jimmy; and five sisters, Marion, Doris, Gladys, Frances and Corine. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, November 15 & 16, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2003 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Waterloo Street at 12 Noon. Interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
