Obituary of Dora M. Swan

The death of Mrs. Dora M. Swan formerly of Saint John West, wife of the late J. A. Rodgers Swan, occurred on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Hatfield Point, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Ada (Denton) Edgar. Mrs. Swan was a graduate of Mount Allison University and taught school in the Saint John area for over 35 years and was a member of St. Mark's United Church. She is survived by one son, David Swan (Anne) of Charlottetown, PEI, two sisters, Beryl Spencer and Helen Stanger (Peter), both of Rothesay, two grandchildren, Leslie of Saint John and Jill of Lenoxville, PQ, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Dr. Arthur Edgar and Murray Edgar and sisters, Blanche Edgar and Nita Melick. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Memorial service will be held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), on Thursday, April 10, 2003 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Harvey, NB, in the spring. Remembrances to the Alzheimer Society or the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated.
