Obituary of Gladys Baillie

The death of Mrs. Gladys (Collett) (Jacobson) Baillie, 88 years, of Rothesay, NB, wife of Daniel J. Baillie, occurred on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Harbour Buffett, NFLD, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Susanna (Hann) Collett. Gladys was employed in the Dietary Department of the Montreal Children's Hospital for many years, before her retirement. She lived in Montreal for 56 years, before moving to Rothesay two years ago, and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Rothesay. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Rev. Wally Collett (Iris) of Quispamsis, step-son Bernie Jacobson (Barbara) of Fall River, NS, two sisters, Pearl Bockus of Noyan, Quebec and Gertrude Hayes of Whitby, ON, 6 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Stan, Percy, Otto and Wallace and one sister, Susan. By request there will be no visiting at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay, on Friday, January 24, 2003, at 12 Noon, followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery in the spring. Remembrances to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
