Obituary of Louise Rosalie Stevens
With heavy hearts, the family of Louise Stevens of Caithness, NB, wife of the late John Stevens Sr., announce her passing on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the comfort of her home. Born December 8, 1935 in Grand Manan, she was a daughter of the late Pearl (Benson) and Earl Wilcox.
Prior to her retirement, Louise worked in various places, including the John Howard Society. She loved her family fiercely and was known as "Nan" to many.
Louise will be missed by her daughter, Judy Leland (John) of Caithness; son, John Stevens of Saint John; grandchildren: Jenny Mason (Mark), Denis Gionet, John Leland (Amanda), Jimmy Dempster (Taryn), Steven Leland (Vanessa), Jennie Dempster, Adam Dempster, David Leland (Becky), Alli McGrath (Josh), John Stevens, and Caleb Stevens; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Genesther "Ness" Hovey (Ward) of Saint John brother, Earl Wilcox (Judy) of Oromocto; and many chosen grandchildren, including: Marci Lynch (Nick), and Ashton and Acacia Barrett. Besides her husband, John, Louise was predeceased by her daughters, Kimberly Gionet and Karen Dempster; sister, Helen Burchill; and her brother, Lawrence Wilcox.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kindred Home Care, especially Beth and Karen; the Extra Mural Nurses; Dr. Vance Anderson; and her RT, Danielle. Your care and kindness will not be forgotten.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 2 pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. In keeping with Louise’s wishes, please dress casually. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Eastern Charlotte Extra Mural would be appreciated by the family.
