Obituary of Edna Mary Northrup
Northrup, Edna Mary: The death of Mrs. Edna Mary (Burchill) Northrup of Kennebec Manor Nursing Home, (formerly of Brunswick Drive) Saint John, NB, wife of the late Mr. Cecil Northrup, , occurred at her residence with her family at her side on Tuesday, July 15, 2003. Born in Saint John on October, 12, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Gertrude (Quinlan) Burchill. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish for many years. She worked several years ago with Commercial Equipment and in the Saint John City Market with O'Reilly's Meats. Her varied interests in life kept her busy until recent years. Walking, knitting and swimming were some of her ingredients to a healthy and lengthy life. Mrs. Northrup is survived by three sons; Harold (Shirley), Conrad (Kathy), both of Saint John, NB and Gregory (Pat) of Asheville, NC, one daughter, Cecil Ann (Bill) Mills of Saint John, NB, one sister, Phyllis McDade of Massachusetts as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers; Everett, Arthur and Gregory and three sisters; Eileen, Ruth and Muriel as well as one daughter Edna Garland. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). At Edna's request, there will be no visitation. Funeral service from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, July 17, 2003 at 2:15 p.m. with interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Saint John West. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donors' choice.
