Obituary of Karin Marie Duplessis
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Karin Marie Duplessis, loving wife of the late Bernard Duplessis, announce her passing on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton on January 4, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nora (Wilson) Saunders.
Karin enjoyed socializing with her friends at her two bridge clubs in Forest Hills and also her knitters club. She was a faithful Christian woman and loved her time with the CWL of St. Joachim’s Church. Karin was known as the mother to all the kids in her neighbourhood! Everyone loved her cooking and baking but it was her friendly disposition that she will be mostly remembered for. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Karin will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Michele (James Emery); sons, Geoffrey (Nicole) of Saint John, Michael (Angela) of Rothesay and Sean (Jennifer) of Quispamsis; sister, Barbara Tessier (Martin) of Ontario; grandchildren, Kristen, Matthew, Daniel, Kelsey, Wilson and Jack; as well as brothers- in- law, sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Karin was predeceased by her brother, John Saunders.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday, July 9, 2018 with visiting from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 12:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, donations can be placed to the Canadian Cancer Society, Lupus New Brunswich or a charity of the donor’s choice.
