Obituary of Bernard Baxter Allen
Bernard "Bernie" Baxter Allen passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the age of 81. Born on June 29, 1937 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Wilmot and Jean (Baxter) Allen. Bernie recently returned to Saint John after residing in Baxters Corner for the past 35 years.
Bernie is survived by his sister, Margot Sutton of Saint John; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Richard "Ricky" and sister, Suzanne Whalen.
Bernie graduated from St. Vincent’s Boys School and completed grade 13 at Saint John High School. He went on to further his education at Sir George Williams University in Montreal. Bernie worked for various companies in the computer field before retiring as a dredger with the National Harbours Board.
Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to the funeral liturgy, which will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
