Obituary of June Anna McCullough
It is with heavy hearts that the family of June A. McCullough announces her peaceful passing, which occurred on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in St. Andrews, NB on October 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Catherine (Donahue) Trecarten.
June attended Prince Arthur School until Grade 5 when the family moved to Saint John where she attended Victoria School, Saint John High School and Mount Carmel Academy. Following her education she taught in one-room schools across Charlotte County.
She married Arthur Johnson and had seven children. In 1971 she studied the Nursing Assistant course at Lady Dunn Trade School. Following graduation, she worked as an operating room lab tech at the Saint John General Hospital. She later married Clarence McCullough where they later moved to Chamcook and Oak Bay.
June will be missed by her children: Lance, Mark (Betty), Heather and Mitzi; grandchildren, Cory, Travis, Kyle, Pam, Ryan, Albert, Kaala, Dana and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Cash and Chase; as well as many friends.
In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her sons: Kirby, Blayne and Dana; first husband, Arthur Johnson; second husband Clarence McCullough; a sister, Catherine and an infant brother, Thomas.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 12-2 pm at Humphrey’s Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street, St. Stephen with a funeral to follow in Humphrey’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.
