Sue Ward (Gamblin) posted a condolence
Uncle Ned is the last uncle from the Landry family we have. I visited him when I could as he was the closest resemblance and connection to my father, Gordon (Gordie as Ned called him) that I had. I always felt so good after visiting him and hearing his little stories about our family. I asked him once if he had any good advice for me when I began to learn to fiddle. He simply said, "keep atter" which was the best advice anyone could ever give and that's exactly what I did and learned to fiddle and enjoy it. I asked him once, "where did this music come from in our family?" There were many musicians, all uncles and one aunt and grandmother were musical. Uncle Ned said, "it is a gift from God and meant to be shared." That is what he did. He shared his music with the world and left us all a legacy of rich, Acadien, Down East, Old Time tunes, the world will enjoy forever. Sue, Fredericton.....love to Patsy, Carol, Fred, Don, Dale and all the grandchildren and other nieces and nephews. When we were all young, our parents kept us all in touch with visits, picnics and get togethers. I miss that.

To the Landry family: I have great memories of |Ned when he would come to play in Nova Scotia and he would stay with us. MY Dad was Dolph Dunphy and he and Ned were childhood friends. Ned was always so sweet and would insist on playing for us before retiring for the night. After he had his toast and tea of course. I know my Dad treasured his friendship until the day he passed in 1982 at a very young age. Perhaps Ned's biggest fan, my Dad and he are together in heaven. God bless you all and may he play on as an angel.
