Obituary of Douglas Alan Nelson

Nelson, Douglas Alan – It is with great sadness that the family of Doug Nelson announces his passing, which occurred on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 24, 1943, he was a son of the late Robert Nelson. Doug was a skilled chef who worked at various local restaurants throughout his career. After retiring from cooking, he worked several odd jobs including helping with cleaning projects. He will be missed by his sons, Sean (Alexa) and Jarrett (Britney); grandchildren, Allie and Brinley; his mother, Margaret (Wood); step-mother, Grace (Tuplin); his sisters, Debbie (Nordine), Gail, Brenda (Brenda) and Pam; close family friend, Laverne; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Doug was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Bernadette). Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Doug’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. His family will hold a private ceremony at a later date.
