Kym, your dad has been such a part of our life since we arrived here in 2009. Without hardly knowing him, I asked him to get my cradle modified and also order the crane to move my boat into it as we were still in Saskatchewan. He had no issues doing this important request for me and we became good friends since then. We often had him over for meals and we always enjoyed our times together. Heather and I will truly miss him.

So very sorry for your loss. We met Noel at the LaHave River Yacht Club 10 or so years ago when we joined and he was always eager to share his sailing adventures in the Caribbean with us. He was a great source of information and we always enjoyed his company. We will miss Noel.

Kym, I met your Dad in 1977 when I was 16 years old and gliding with the Air Cadets in Greenwood. I have many fond memories of hours spent either in a L19 towing gliders or taking lessons from him in a glider and of doing a couple Air shows with him as well. After joining the military myself I often met up with your Dad again when I would visit Waterville or Greenwood to do a bit of flying when I was home on leave. In 1989 I was posted to the Halifax Rescue Coordination Centre and had the opportunity to again meet up and work with him for two years. During that time frame he and Eadie were preparing to head south and I spent a lot of time sailing around Halifax Harbour with them and scraping bottom paint with them as well! I lost touch with Noel when he and Eadie went south and I headed to Labrador but as fate would have it we met up one day in a restaurant in Truro when they were home for the summer from cruising and Noel was flying out of Debert. Our friendship was once again rekindled and led to us get in touch with him when we also decided to make the South Shore our home upon retirement. Since moving here in 2009 we have many fond memories of time spent with your Dad and Eadie and we enjoyed having Noel live with us after Eadies' passing. Your Father was a true gentleman and respected pilot and Military man and he was an inspiration to countless number of Cadets that he taught to fly. He truly will be missed. Heather Best

Sorry to hear of Noel's passing. Even though we only knew Noel for a few years, we always enjoyed our conversations with him at the club. Condolences to all the family.
