Obituary of Shirley Constance Kierstead

It is with sadness that the family of Shirley Constance (Shannon) Kierstead of Embassy Hall announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her daughter by her side, on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Shirley was the wife of the late Robert Kierstead and was born in Saint John to the late Frederick and Mary (Kerwin) Shannon. Surviving, in addition to her daughter Barbara Kierstead-Shanks of Quispamsis; are her brother, John Shannon of Montreal; her sister-in-law, Constance Miller of Rothesay; and brother-in-law, Canon David Kierstead of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, Robert, Shirley was predeceased by her infant daughter, Elizabeth; her brother, Ralph; and her son-in-law, Brian Shanks. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 2 to 6 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of NB (Saint John), the Kidney Foundation of Canada - Atlantic Canada Branch, or the charity of the donor's choice.
