Obituary of Audrey Pauline D'Arcy
After a long and happy life filled with laughter and love, Audrey Pauline (Reicker) D’Arcy passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on September 20, 2018. Born on November 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel (Lamb) Reicker. Audrey was the loving wife of the late Glenmore D’Arcy for 67 years.
Audrey was a lifetime member of Portland United Church, where in the past, was involved with the nursery and UCW. She loved the carefree days of her summers spent in Belmont where in her younger years she played tennis and was an avid swimmer. She loved curling and was a member of the Thistle and the Thistle St. Andrews curling club for decades. She enjoyed knitting, speedskating and cooking but her greatest joy was her family and raising her children, and then her grandchildren; Jordi and Darcy were the apples of her eye.
Audrey will be missed by her son, David D’Arcy (Denise); daughter, Sally Duguay (Bruce); her grandsons, George (Rachel), Jordi and Darcy Crowther (Taylor); special cousin and lifelong friend, Roberta Mott; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald and Norman Reicker.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 4-7 pm. A Celebration of Audrey’s life will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 am from Portland United Church, 50 Newport Crescent, Saint John. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice, Portland United Church or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
