Lud posted a condolence
I have not been in touch for many years. However I do remember the times that we did some serious trout fishing with Barbara's Father, family outings at Mispec, your passion for hunting and perfection in what you did, in searching for the perfect Christmas tree and your sense of humour. God Bless. Rest in Peace Richard Deepest condolences to Barbara and the family, Margaret, Patsy and all the Edisons and their families. Lud and Judie

To Uncle Richard: Of all the many blessings however great or small, to have had you for an uncle was the greatest one of all. Our family chain is broken now and nothing seems the same, but some day the chain will link again. R I P

It is with a heavy heart that send this message, I always admired Uncle Richards carpentry, he built his entire home by hand and his work was incredible. He was a very hard worker and was always really kind to me. Unfortunately, I haven't reached out in a very long time and for that I am regretful. I send my condolences to Aunt Barbara and the family. Xoxoxo

Bernice Palmer Langford posted a condolence
I was saddened to hear about Richard Edison's recent passing. He and I grew up together on Broadview Avenue, in the South End. He was a hard-working man and an excellent carpenter whose workmanship can be found throughout my home. I had hoped to see him and his family at my 90th birthday party in July, not knowing at the time, how ill he was. My heartfelt condolences go out to Barbara, Ricky, Margaret, Debbie and the rest of his extended family. Bernice Palmer Langford

Sheri Palmer Hatton posted a condolence
About thirty years ago, my Mother, Nonie Palmer Hatton and I, talked Richard and Barbara into driving to New York. At the time, Richard loved the World Wrestling Federation fights, so we surprised them with tickets to the WWF fights at Madison Square Garden. We three women and a very excited Richard saw the Bushwhackers, Jake the Snake, a twin tag team duo, and a host of other men throwing each other around the wrestling ring. Despite my chiding, Richard defended his love of the 'sport'. By the end of the evening, we all were booing at the bad guys, throwing our arms in the air doing the Bushwhacker dance with its corresponding 'grunts', and making hissing sounds when Jake threatened his opponent with the sack containing the Snake. What an unexpected great time! For weeks afterwards I would 'boo' at anyone who was rude to me -- something I learned while hanging out with Richard and the WWF. During that trip, we enjoyed Richard's fun side. Afterwards, I couldn't take him as seriously as I had before our crazy night at MSG shaking our behinds at the WWF wrestlers. The world has lost a strong and crazy man. My condolences to Rick, Barbara, Margaret, Debbie, Tinisha, Little Man Jamar, his big sister Larissa, and everyone else, famiy and friends alike who saw the twinkle in Richard's eyes and knew that he was up to something.
