Obituary of K. Lorriane Saunders
The family of Lorraine Saunders, wife of the late Richard Saunders, announce her passing at Bobby’s Hospice on November 25, 2018. Daughter of the late Elias and Lillian (Earle) Gillard, Lorraine was born in Boston Massachusetts on November 14, 1927.
Lorraine was a school custodian for several years before retiring from the Saint John School Board until her retirement in 1989. During this time she loved the students and formed many fond memories and friendships. She had a great zest for life and lived it to the fullest. She had a great time with her Knitter and Quilters and she loved her dear friend Margaret Winnie – She will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Sharon) Saunders of Maple Ridge, BC, Pamala (George) Johnston of Saint John, Roseann (Wayne) McCoy of Vancouver, Deborah (Stephen) Gruben of Victoria BC, Barbara (Andrew) Aalund of Saint John, J. Wade (Brenda Craig) Saunders of Saint John, Earl (Marlene) Saunders of Moncton, and Michael (Shelly Richard) Saunders of Saint John; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, Lorraine was predeceased by her son Douglas and her grandchildren Kylie and Patrick Aalund.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, November 28, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A funeral service will be held from St. Luke’s Anglican Church on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
