It is with heavy hearts that the family of Arthur A. Born on April 11, 1941 in Glace Bay, NS, he was one of the 17 children of Stanley and Jessie (Walker) Locke.
Art was employed as a Pipefitter with UA local 213 for many years. He was a family man and dotted on his grandsons. He will be missed by his family and many friends, especially John and Lori Richardson, Bob Pade, Debbie England, Valerie Carins and Bob Williams who were always there and up for an adventure with Art.
Art will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 25 years, Karen, his step-son Mark (Aimee) Richardson, his grandsons: Cole and Callan Richardson, brothers Thomas and Leonard Locke, sisters: Debra Kopinto, Lucy Digout, Martha Bartlett, Doris Devison, Beulah King and Gloria Kucherwry along with many nieces, nephews and members of his extended family
Besides his parents, Art was predeceased by his brothers: Leslie, John, Jack, David, Samuel and Stanley "Sonny" Locke, sisters: Margaret Moore and Lovelette Carter.
The family would like to extend many thanks to Terri-Lynn Reed, the extra-mural nurses Art has had over the years including Sam and Colleen. And to the many doctors who oversaw Art’s care; Dr.’s Le, Whalen, Burnell, Campbell and Mowatt, in addition to the Oncology and Palliative Care Departments, your compassion will never be forgotten. Art’s family would also like to extend a special thank you to United Association Local 213; Welders, Plumbers, Pipefitters, Steam Fitters, Service Technicians, and Sprinkler Fitters for their support and to the NB and International UA staff.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Sunday, December 2 from 2-4 and 6-8 with a Legion Tribute beginning at 7 PM.
