Obituary of Mary Ellen Bailey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Mary Ellen "Mel" (Steeves) Bailey, wife of the late Carl Edward Bailey, at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 17, 2018, after a brief illness. Born in Moncton on October 13, 1956, she was a daughter of the late John and Frances (Melanson) Steeves. Mel was a wonderful person with inner joy and a love of the simple pleasures in life. She has over 35 years of dedicated service with H & R Block. Mel’s leadership and mentorship were evident in both her work and personal life. Her ultimate joy was spending time with her children. Mel will be lovingly remembered by her children: Meaghan and Carl Bailey; sisters: Margaret Kennedy (Mark) and Marlene Pellerin ( Keith); along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mel was predeceased by her brother, Michael Steeves. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 12:00 pm. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society (NB) or a charity of the Donor’s Choice would be appreciated by the family.
