Obituary of Linda Jane Scott

The passing of Linda (Osborne) Scott of Saint John, cherished wife of Alvin Scott occurred on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 12, 1951 in Gagetown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Osborne and Bernice (Ferris) Piers. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her step-father, James Piers. Prior to her retirement, Linda was a devoted teacher at Welsford Elementary. She happily went above and beyond as a teacher and took great pride in her student’s accomplishments. Linda truly enjoyed her career and treasured the lifelong friendships made during her teaching years. Linda was a very active member of the RCL Branches 22 and 87 and was a loyal supporter of the Poppy Campaign each year. She loved her community and was former president of the Waterloo Village Association and organizer of a yearly citywide scavenger hunt with all proceeds going to the Empty Stocking Fund. She was a proud St. Thomas Alumni, an avid historian and enjoyed genealogy. Together with Alvin, Linda enjoyed geocaching and many travelling adventures. She always treasured the times spent with her family and especially looked forward to the times spent with her grandchildren. Linda adored being a grandmother and her grandchildren were her world. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband, Alvin, Linda will also be lovingly remembered by her children, Letisha Eastwood (Chris Clark) of Saint John, Tracy Bogle of Saint John, Brent Bogle of Edmonton, Chantale Hofman (Steve) of Oromocto, Karen Baillie (Dan) of Vancouver and Kevin Scott (Courta) of Ontario; precious grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Connor, Regan, Cielle, Scott and Annie; adored great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Adeline. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with a Legion Auxiliary Tribute starting at 7:00 PM.
