Obituary of George Patrick Maillet

It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Patrick Maillet, beloved husband of the late Marie Maillet, announce his passing on January 11, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Saint John. Born in Bouctouche, NB on December 8, 1934, he was a son of the late Dos and Leonie (Boucher) Maillet. In his earlier years, George worked at the Port of Saint John and then went on to take care of several apartment buildings throughout the city. He was a big fan of country and western music, especially George Jones. Most of all, George was a family man and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be sorely missed. George will be remembered by his daughter, Eileen Johnson (Urbain) of Grand Bay-Westfield; sisters, Leona Daigle of Mass, USA and Delma Maillet of Saint John; grandchildren, John, Darrell and Danny Johnson; several great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Marie, and his parents, George is predeceased by his brothers, Amedee, Albon and Eric; his sisters, Margaret, Edna and Adeline. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Honouring the family’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
