Obituary of Rita Mildred Bailey
The death of Rita Bailey of Saint John, cherished wife of Murray Bailey occurred on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on June 8, 1934 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen (Loughlin) Earle. Rita devoted her life to taking care of her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She always enjoyed a good game of cards, playing bingo, knitting and puzzles. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Murray, Rita is also survived by their children, David (JoAnn O’Blenes-Bailey) of Hampton, Kimberley Jenkins (Dennis) of Saint John, Brian (Carol) of Bloomfield and Michael of Saint John; siblings, Bessy Jacquard and Curtis Earle both of Saint John; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Karen Bailey; sister, Frances and brother, Bobby. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Friday, February 17, 2017 and Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Chapel on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. If you wish to leave a memoriam, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
