Obituary of John Douglas Hamilton
It is with heavy hearts that the family of John Douglas Hamilton announces his passing, which occurred on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Born in Saint John, N.B, he was a son of the late John "Jack" Douglas and Nancy May (Short) Hamilton.
John spent his younger life in Grand Bay, N.B. having graduated from from Grand Bay High School, but spent the last 40 years travelling North America. He was employed in the oil industry managing oil refinery construction and refit projects.
He was an avid golfer in his younger years and achieved a spot on both the N.B. and N.F.L.D Willingdon cup golf teams. John lived his life to the fullest in every aspect and as the song goes, "I did it my way"; he sure did.
John is survived by his brothers Rob (Cindy), of Lower Greenwich, N.B., and Rick (Wendy) of Gagetown, N.B., as well as several nieces and nephews.
Aside from is parents, he is predeceased by his sisters Shirley, Joan, and Mary.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, N.B. (634-7424). In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will take place at a later date in Gagetown, N.B. Donations in John’s memory can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation. Online condolences can be made at www.BrenansFH.com.
