To Les' family and friends my sincere condolences. I first met Les Adams fairly early in my naval career and I must say I found Les to be an intense person. Quite frankly he scared the bejeebus out of me. Les however was unlike a lot of supervisors. If you screwed up, he would let you know it but Les was the type of leader who would be there to help and guide you. As I got to know him, the intensity I felt from him was from him caring about the job and caring about each and every sailor he mentored through the years. Our paths crossed many times over the years and Chief Adams was always there to give advice when you needed it or just to check in on how you were doing. He was the epitome of what a leader and mentor should be in the RCN and the CAF and I was very fortunate to cross paths with him. I have no doubt he running part ship hands in the afterlife, teaching cherubs to throw a heaving line and to put turns on a bollard. Les Adams thank you and I will see you at secure sometime.

Les and I were in the Sea Cadets, and then the Navy, together. We also both attended Beaconsfield School together. He was one of the finest sailors - and best seamen - I ever met. He was as tough as nails. Never complained. Always took things on the chin. Im so lucky to have known him. He made me a better person. To Less family, including Mike, another old shipmate: all of my sympathies are with you. Im so very sorry for you loss.

So sad for all of you. It's at a time like this that we look back and regret that we lost touch. We were so happy to reconnect with Leslie in Cocagne and get to meet Debbie. They were really enjoying life together, while still honoring, respecting, and fondly talking about their lost loves. We remembered some funny stories about the times we shared with Nancy when we were young parents. It was like we had never been apart. I'm really thankful that I had that chance and other messages and phone calls to remember just how great a guy he was.

Deborah and Family, It's with heavy hearts that we send you our since condolences from afar. I first meet Leslie at the young age of 15 as a Sea Cadet. We met during inter Cadet Corps visits, and we sailed together on HMCS Protecteur in 1977 to South America. What a great adventure & memories for us teenagers. Leslie was always a natural leader, as Cadets, everyone looked up to him. At a young age it was clear that he would be joining the Navy. Throughout our busy Naval careers we never seemed to be on the same ship or same place at the same time, and only once I had the pleasure of sailing with him over our careers. It was fantastic to finally relive our past adventures and friendship over the last couple of years, and to meet his beautiful wife. I will always remember Leslie, he is one of very few friends that I remember looking up to and to have the pleasure of being part of his life's journey is an honour. Big hugs to you and your family. David and Alexandra
