A love letter to my Nan in heaven, from your devastated granddaughter here on earth. I love you with every part of my being. You were the most awesome Nan, anyone could ever imagine. I am missing you terribly. We had so many great times together. From as far back as I can remember to now. Christmas Day of 2018 will be one of the most memorable. You enjoyed family, friends, a home cooked meal and your favorite pass time of grabbing the men. I inherited your best traits. From learning how to love, your stubbornness and most of all your dirty sense of humour. OOPS forgot the BOOBS. HA HA. Not moms. There is an emptiness left in my heart, but my head is full of memories. We cried together, laughed together, but most of all loved together. I will love and miss you always Cathy I dont want to leave Mike out. Hes as much a grandson as any of the biological ones. He loved with all his heart, and you loved him just as much. He could do no wrong in your eyes. Heaven forbid someone say something bad about him, including me. You could and would give quite the tongue lashing. In no uncertain words, he was your favorite. He never left without a hug and kiss. And I love you Gram. He misses you as much as I do.

It was nice to hear some of the funny stories of Mom the other day, especially the Beaver Brook Rink & taking 1/2 of the neighbor hood kids to wrestling. It was normal in our house to take a Sunday drive to visit the country cousins, us all dressed in our Sunday best & getting to the farms and being told not to get dirty as we headed to the barn and Dad lining up all the kids to show them how the electric fence worked. I always thought Mom had one arm longer than the other but realized she was holding the "Heat for the Seat" paddle! My butt was introduced to that family member quite a few times. She ran a tight ship inside and outside of the house but she worked hard at her job & worked hard at home cooking and cleaning and taking care of 1/2 dozen kids and pets. I think her job at the hospital kept her sane as over the years we discovered she was the life of the party, joking and playing tricks & she was well known & liked by all. Her and Dad really blossomed when the grand-kids started arriving & the well used Heat for the Seat was finally retired. They both had a hard upbringing and did the best that they could & like all of us they made a few mistakes along the way but I am proud & glad that they were my Mom and Dad. I hope she is tending to a massive flower garden, and feeding chickens & sitting on a swing with a puppy with the sun on her face. We will miss you Mom & hope to see you again one day and on that note I am going to cross the street and get on the swing without a kid calling out, "here comes someone's mother with a stick in her hand!!!"
