Obituary of Sondra Joan Lewis
May 30th, 1960 - February 12th, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Sondra Joan Lewis has passed away peacefully after a battle with renal cancer over the last couple of years.
Sondra is survived by her two children, Jillian Rose Comeau and wife Dr. Kristen Bonson and Jared Scott Comeau; three grandchildren, Isabella, Brooke and Declan whom she loved so dearly. Sondra is also survived by her mother, Joan Jones; siblings, Peter Lewis (Taylor and Paige), Michael Lewis and wife Michelle (Amanda and Andrew), Kelly Lewis and wife Louise, Scott Lewis and wife Tammy (Keelan, Allie and Sophie) and her youngest brother, Troy Lewis.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gerald Forest in 2017 and her dad, Jack Lewis in 1998.
Sondra worked as a Caregiver for the last 25 years with patients suffering from Dementia and Alzheimer’s and she touched numerous other people’s lives. She was a deeply loving and selfless mother and her grandchildren became her livelihood in her final years, filling her heart with joy. She also had a very close relationship with her only sister, Kelly in the last few years, which meant more than words could express.
We’d like to thank her care team: Dr. Gordon Holloway, Dr. Gavin Langille, Dr. Samantha Gray, Dr. Julia Wildish and pharmacist Ryan Kennedy. She was very thankful for the friendship of Dr. Margot Burnell, who was a wonderful resource to her as she faced this cancer.
There will be no visitation or funeral at Sondra’s request. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, donations in memory of Sondra may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Remember the good times with her. She left this world peacefully, bravely and on her own terms.
